How do I prepare a Buddha Bowl, you are asking?

Here are three recipe ideas…

Buddha Bowl Recipe Idea No.1:


  • 75 g quinoa
  • salad
  • edamame beans
  • zucchini
  • cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1⁄2 sweet potato

Ingredients for the Dressing:

  • a little lemon juice
  • 2tbsp tahini
  • 1/4 tsp soy sauce
  • a little olive oil

Preparation of the Bowl:

  1. Cook the sweet potato (ca. 30 min).
  2. Prepare quinoa according to instructions on the package.
  3. Chop and fry veggies.
  4. Cut the avocado in half and then in long stripes.
  5. Blend tahini, soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil.
  6. Give the salad into a bowl, add the rest of the ingredients and the dressing.
  7. Top with sesame seeds or nutritional yeast according to taste!

Buddha Bowl Recipe Idea No.2:


  • 4 falafel
  • bell pepper
  • small tomatoes
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 carrot
  • salad of choice
  • pomegranate seeds

Preparation of the Dip:

  • 1 small beetroot
  • 2 garlic clove
  • 300 g cooked chickpeas
  • some lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Preparation of the Bowl:

  1. Wrap beetroot in tinfoil and bake at 175 °C for about one hour. Let cool out, peel and cut into cubes.
  2. Chop the garlic and give it with beetroot, chickpeas, lemon juice and tahini in a blender, add enough olive oil to create a delicious hummus. Add salt and pepper according to taste!
  3. Wash, peel and chop veggies. Peel and grate the carrot, wash the salad and give everything in a bowl!
  4. Add falafel and pomegranate seeds, garnish with nuts and sesame seeds!

Buddha Bowl Recipe Idea No.3:


  • salad
  • a hand-full of red cabbage
  • 3-4 tbsp kidney beans
  • bell pepper
  • mushrooms
  • 50 g wild rice
  • 100 g tofu of choice
  • 1 tsp agave syrup or maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp water
  • grounded ginger
  • 1 tsp vinegar

Ingredients for the Dressing:

  • 3 tbsp agave syrup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • cumin, salt, and pepper

Preparation of the Bowl:

  1. Blend 1 tsp syrup with 3 tbsp soy sauce, 4 tbsp water, vinegar and ginger. Cut the tofu into strips and marinade for 30 minutes.
  2. Pan-fry the tofu.
  3. Chop the veggies and fry as well.
  4. For the dressing, mix syrup, soy sauce, salt, pepper and cumin.
  5. Give salad into a bowl, add rice, tofu, beans, veggies and give the dressing on top. You may add sesame seeds to taste.
